This is a voluntary listing of parasitologists working in Canada. The listing is meant to be inclusionary, so "parasites" are included here in the broadest sense. It is hoped that this directory will serve as a means of facilitating contact among all persons, faculty, students, government researchers, or whomever, doing any sort of research on parasites. You do not have to be a member of the Parasitology Section of the Canadian Society of Zoologists to list your name in this Directory.
The listings include names, information to help you get in touch (addresses, phone, etc.), a summary of the general parasites, hosts, and research topics of the individual, as well as a statement of their current research projects.
Unless permission is explicitly granted in a person's listing, assume that they DO NOT give permission for any of the information in that listing to be used for commercial purposes.
The Directory was originally published in 1991 and revised in 1996 based on mail-in surveys. The hard-copy publiction, Directory of Parasitologists in Canada, Second Edition 1996, published under the auspices of the Biological Survey of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Nature, and the Canadian Society of Zoologists, was translated to the Web in 1997. This Directory relies on the persons listed in it to keep the contents current. A new electronic form for entering new listings or updating existing ones was introduced in 1998.
We hope you will find this Directory useful. Please tell your colleagues about it.
