The randcomp web page and program are by John Brzustowski. Feel free to send me corrections, comments, and questions at junkjbrzusto@ualberta.cacaca but removing the obvious parts
The idea for the program comes from discussions with Susan Hannon, Dan Lambert, Jeff Hoyt, Troy Wellicome, Claudio Celada, Samantha Song and Ben Olsen [have I forgotten anyone? - JMB].

A Windows version for larger datasets is available in the free
Krebs/Win package at http://www2.biology.ualberta.ca/jbrzusto/ftp/krebs
This part of the package requires at least a '386.

The free source code consists of histo.c, randcomp.awk,
rcwrap, this file, and a version of GNU awk augmented with URL encoding/decoding functions.
There are more free programs in a similar vein at: http://www2.biology.ualberta.ca/jbrzusto/index.html
